Karen Wick and the Dayton Daily News can’t tell you the truth. Esrati.com can.

Everyday, since last Monday, I’ve looked in the Dayton Daily news for a correction to the story by reporter (and my neighbor) Cory Frolick ran about the Dayton City Commission Candidates: Dayton City Commission candidates in depth: One of five won’t make the cut It said that Karen Wick was 60. I happen to know how old Ms. Wick is, and even when her birthday is. She used to be a friend and client, until she started drinking again- at the political trough, specifically, the one run by the Montgomery County Democratic (Private) Party.

I sent Mr. Frolik a simple email- with proof- her voter registration. He responded: “Thanks, David. I removed her age from the online story. I will ask her about her age again moving forward, but that’s the age I was told. Thanks for the head’s up, cory”

The story online has no age. For those of you who are wondering. Ms. Wick is 64.

Karen Wick was born in January, 1961

Now, if she’ll lie about her age, what else will she lie about?

There are 5 candidates on the ballot Tuesday, and come Wednesday, if you want integrity in office, hopefully, Ms. Wick learns her lesson about lying. Because, quite frankly, her performance or lack thereof on the School Board should disqualify her. She hired Libby Lolli over and over to run our schools into the ground- in a way similar to the way Donald Trump is running this country- with one insane change after another- unchecked. Move principals around – 24 of 28 schools got a new one under Lolli and Wick signed off. Spent money hiring head hunters to find a new superintendent- despite one being right here- check. Not backing Jocelyn Rhynard on policy to apply protections to school board members of sexual harassment- check. Backing both Chrisondra Goodwine and Will Smith for the center seat- check.

Karen Wick hasn’t had an independent voice in 7+ years on the school board- which is why Jeff Mims wants her on the ticket with him and his protegee Darius Beckham on board- so that the Party can continue to enrich themselves. Wick is “his girl” because she brings money to the campaign, connections, and another follower to his flock with Matt Joseph and Chris Shaw who between the two of them, haven’t had an original thought in office.

Dayton doesn’t need Wick in office. Even ChatGPT isn’t impressed with her “business friendly platform.” While the young dems are asking why the Cornell Market is still sitting as a fire pile over 180 days- they only need to realize that if they were Karen Wick- it would have been gone in less than 45 days (the house next to Wick’s burned and was razed in record time).

As to Mims, if you need a reminder of how morally bankrupt he is, please review this video: “Goodbye Sunshine” and realize- that people like Mims and John Gower- who knew the meeting was illegal, and stood outside, instead of STOPPING IT, are just as reprehensible.

I could write more, but the reality is, while Wick is wrong for Dayton, the Dayton Daily news needs some serious lessons in journalism. When you have a correction- you correct it- you don’t omit it. And when some other news source breaks a story, you credit it.

Speaking of that story, where the Sheriff apologizes to the family for his staff killing an inmate, there’s a lot more coming, and you will read it here first. I worked on getting more information all weekend, and will share it with you soon.

What the Dayton Daily has failed to tell its readers is that they switched printing in Indianapolis which was 2 hours away, to Detroit which is 3+ hours away- and are going to be printing in Tennessee which is 6 hours away before long (if not already) meaning they are far from a “daily” newspaper and more like a day and a half old newspaper.

WHIO- their former co-conspirators in “if it bleeds it leads journalism” also stole the story without credit. I didn’t watch the other two to see if they gave credit because I’ve been busy. Way too busy.

If you didn’t go back and read the updates on the story of the sheriff putting people on admin leave after the Dayton Police Department asked for murder charges in the “positional asphyxiation” of Christian Black, you should. If you knew the whole story, you’d wonder why Sheriff Streck is still in charge and why the jail is still operating. Hint, it’s going to cost the taxpayers a lot of money. While the County Commissioners are presenting their “State of The County” address tomorrow morning at 10am at Sinclair, there are massive forces coming to wage war against them for their continued incompetence at keeping citizens safe in the jail- and even on the streets- from Streck’s vigilante force.

But, until then, if you live in Dayton, please vote. There is one expensive mistake was can leave on the sidelines, let’s not light this wick, because when you turn on the light, she’s not very bright- lying about your age isn’t ok.

Things are never dull in politics and media.

It looks like Valerie Duncan was sacrificed at the political altar in the Dayton City Commission race. Karen Wick came in third, despite her misprinted age.

Now that Liz Walters has moved on from Chair of the Ohio Democratic Party, what are Desiree Tims and Eric Walker of Innovation Ohio working on (besides Ohio Senator Bill DeMora):

Apollo wants to sell Dayton, Ohio radio & broadcast TV outlets (Cox Media Group): (Per Wikipedia, WHIO-TV signed on February 23, 1949. The station has been owned by the Cox publishing family and their related companies since its inception. Cox also publishes the Dayton Daily News, the first newspaper ever purchased by Cox Enterprises founder James M. Cox. WHIO-TV is only the second of three television stations built by Cox from the ground up.):

Thank you David for the “Goodbye Sunshine”. Very well done and very sad. Is there a part 2 so we know what happened at the court the next day?
