The political elite of Montgomery County has some deals in place that don’t often get violated. The main one is that judges never get challenged. Once you’re on the bench, you’re on till you age out. It’s like the Supreme Court with an age limit.
So, imagine the surprise when Kettering Municipal Court Judge Frederick W. Dressel took out petitions to run again, but didn’t file them on the turn in date on Tuesday. Instead, his buddy, K. George Kordalis filed. Now Kordalis will be unopposed and the new judge until death or 70 which ever comes first. Yep, the voters just got punked.
That’s why when people ask me “who’s running for the Dayton City Commission this year” I always say “you never know until the petitions have been validated by the Montgomery County Board of (S)Elections. That turn in date isn’t until Mar 7, but has the highest signature bar around for a non-partisan election, 500 “good” signatures. If you have any interest in being the next Mayor, replacing Jeff Mims or City Commissioner, replacing Shenise Turner Sloss or Darryl Fairchild you best be out getting signatures right now. Note, if you look at the 2025 Montgomery County Candidate Report, none of those three are marked as pulling petitions still, and even if they are circulating petitions, you won’t know what’s up until they’ve filed and been validated.
The Kettering Municipal court seat is for 6 years. At that point, according to the local back room deals, Kordalis can be challenged, but only once. Considering Kordalis is only 38 years old, he could be a judge for a very long time thanks to his gift from Judge Dressel who is 69 and could have stayed on till he was 75. You just can’t run for a seat if you are over 70.
While this kind of backroom deals may be abhorrent, it’s not nearly as bad as the deal we get which keeps both the Montgomery County Prosecutor and the Montgomery County Sheriff for life without opposition. That deal has made us less safe and less protected than anything else. Neither Mat Heck or Rob Streck belong anywhere near a position of authority.
Heck is a very petty punk with too much power- who personally pulled a fast one and found “no-true bill” against a woman who steals from disabled veterans (including me) and keeps people employed despite their indictment for rape. As to Sheriff Streck, the violations of basic human rights in the jail continue non-stop, never mind the number of people who’ve died while in his custody for minor crimes, but he was trained by the best- Phil “The Torturer” Plummer who got promoted up after violating the Geneva convention by torturing restrained inmates with pepper spray.
This isn’t the only problem we have. If you look at Debbie Lieberman, Stacy Benson Taylor and Kate Baker all losing elections but getting cushy government jobs without having to go through a normal job application process, it’s just another angle on the same crooked game.
It’s time to institute a new rule in Ohio- if you run unopposed for any seat, from School Board to Governor in the State of Ohio- you are limited to one term. If no one runs for the position, the position is eliminated. We have too many banana republics in Montgomery County alone- costing taxpayers way too much money. This is just another example of how the back room keeps the “friends and family” in comfort.

UPDATE
11 Feb 2025, an independent candidate could still file. The total number who cast a ballot in the last gubernatorial is 57,496. The petition form to run for Kettering Municipal Court Judge is Form 3-I and the candidate would need a minimum of 575 valid signatures and can turn in up to 1725.
The petitions would be due May 5th- the day before the primary. See ORC 3513.257

Anybody want to take bets on how long it takes the Dayton Daily to run this story and ignore that I broke it?
DDN is part of the problem… I predict “Not a Peep”.
Need to get rid of voting machines and count the totals at the precinct like it was…
Loving what DOGE is doing ! LMFAO !
hmmmm, I wonder if Dressel and Kordalis colluded on this or if this is just an odd coincidence??? I think we know the answer to that one! It would be interesting to find out if Dressel had Kordalis act as a magistrate in his court over the last year or two. I think that it’s pretty common for these judges to hire in their buddies as part time magistrates to help cover when they want to go on vacation or to handle the “overload” in their court.
The BOE is part of the problem here. Several years ago I was down at the BOE filing some paperwork at this time of the year. While I was waiting to be taken care of, I overheard part of a conversation between a judge and “the Daves” there. Apparently the judge hadn’t turned in his paperwork on time, but “the Daves” were telling him not to worry about it – they would go before the actual Board at the next meeting and tell them that the delayed paperwork was somehow their fault and that they’d recommend that the Board approve his petition anyway.
In the case of these two, did the folks at the BOE “unofficially” go over all the paperwork, filing requirements, etc. with Kordalis without him “officially” pulling a petition? Or did he pull the paperwork from their website and print it out?
My observation about these judges is that they are elected hacks. From what I’ve seen, prior to them being elected they have their own little law practice and are barely eeking out a living. They run for judge to get a public payroll job that includes a pension and benefits and no real accountability for much of anything. They don’t have set hours and will often have “magistrates” sit in for them. And, they generally end up hiring their law practice admin person to be their administrative assistant in the court, so that person ends up with a cushy job as well.
This crap really needs to stop.
Wish you could ALL see the Big Smile on my Face… With All the Corruption Being Exposed & Knowing our Tax Money will be Saved & Spent Better ! How could Anyone NOT be Happy ?
Gonna be a Great 4 YEARS !
You’re not smiling here, Tim, probably because you & Trump are still criminals.

I haven’t seen any legitimate evidence of fraud from the lawless antics of the DOGE boys. Supply us with some citations. Like Gym Jordan, you’re a bit short.
All you offer is more lies from the Office of 47 Liars Club.
Trump, Vought, and Musk & the DOGE boys, are drunk on power. Trump crows about his beautiful Article 2 while running roughshod over the rule of law.

Prior funding for USAID and other agencies was from a bipartisan Congress. If the Republicans didn’t like the recipients of their spending, they could have refused. But, nope. They didn’t.
Fortunately, the federal judiciary has checked them today and took note of the fact the DOJ has failed to provide any proof to support the gutting of essential government entities and the ensuing harms those actions have caused domestically and worldwide.

There used to be a time not so long ago when national security norms, clearances, and protection of the private personal information of American citizens, meant something. Not anymore.
The Trump kleptocracy is in charge.
You should’ve waited about five minutes after that picture I was smiling like hell just like I am right now watching you Democrats heads explode. ! I will NEVER provide you with any links of evidence because you wouldn’t believe it anyway you got your head so far up the Democrat ass you can’t see light have a nice life !
Newsflash they get kickbacks from the funds sent out that’s why both sides don’t say shit.. lying politicians like usual nothing new there !
But Trump & Musk are already rich & can’t be bought and sold. Loving politics these days ! Clean House DOGE ! LMFAO !
Note- an independent candidate could still file to be on the November ballot. See update in post above.
Newsflash, Tim has no evidence. Go figure.
King Trump and his Office of 47 Liars Club, his Jan 6 coup plotters, and Project 2025 enemies of the state, continue their assault on democracy and the rule of law.
So far, the judiciary is holding fast.

From William R. Bay, President of the American Bar Association:
“… There is much that Americans disagree on, but all of us expect our government to follow the rule of law, protect due process and treat individuals in a way that we would treat others in our homes and workplaces. The ABA does not oppose any administration. Instead, we remain steadfast in our support for the rule of law.
We call upon our elected representatives to stand with us and to insist upon adherence to the rule of law and the legal processes and procedures that ensure orderly change. The administration cannot choose which law it will follow or ignore. These are not partisan or political issues. These are rule of law and process issues. We cannot afford to remain silent. We must stand up for the values we hold dear. The ABA will do its part and act to protect the rule of law.
We urge every attorney to join us and insist that our government, a government of the people, follow the law. It is part of the oath we took when we became lawyers. (emphasis added)
Whatever your political party or your views, change must be made in the right way. Americans expect no less.”

Melissa is using politico which received aid money to write stories against Trump. You need better sources, lady. All my sources are going to be what Elon finds as far as wasted money. I can’t believe you’re not upset that the government’s wasting money you must be a damn crook too living off the system. You Democrats are CROOKS ! And if you say nothing about the money being stolen and wasted, you’re part of the problem !
The Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.) has uncovered several significant findings related to government spending and efficiency: Wasteful Spending and Misappropriation: D.O.G.E. has identified billions of dollars that have been systematically misappropriated, highlighting issues within federal spending not authorized by Congress. This includes examining programs and spending that could be considered wasteful, fraudulent, or unnecessary. Improper Payments: According to government reports cited by D.O.G.E.’s leaders, there were $247 billion in improper payments made by 18 agencies in fiscal year 2022, pointing to significant inefficiencies in government operations. Outdated IT Systems: D.O.G.E. has pointed out that the government operates on ancient computers and software, costing approximately $337 million annually to maintain, which suggests a need for technological modernization to improve efficiency. Savings Opportunities: It’s been claimed that D.O.G.E. has already identified over $70 billion in potential savings from the American taxpayer’s money, indicating a focus on reducing government expenditure. Regulatory and Bureaucratic Overreach: The initiative aims to slash excess regulations and restructure federal agencies, with specific mentions of targeting the Department of Defense for scrutiny due to its significant portion of federal discretionary spending. Focus on Defense Spending: D.O.G.E. has targeted defense spending, particularly large, under performing programs, suggesting that there are opportunities for cost savings by improving efficiency or cutting unnecessary projects. Potential Conflict of Interest: There are discussions around potential conflicts of interest due to the involvement of individuals like Elon Musk, who has business interests that could be affected by government policy changes. These findings reflect D.O.G.E.’s mission to streamline government operations, reduce waste, and improve the efficiency of federal spending, as reported by various sources and mentioned in posts on X. Here are some detailed examples of wasteful spending as identified by various sources: Improper Payments: The Government Accountability Office (GAO) reported that the federal government made $200 billion in overpayments in 2022, with an annual loss to fraud estimated at up to $233 billion. This includes payments to ineligible recipients or for services not rendered. Expired Authorizations: The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) found that Congress appropriated $516 billion in fiscal year 2024 to programs whose authorizations… Read more »
Did Q tell you all that, Tim? Has DOGE outed Q from the deep state underworld? You need to get some real facts, not alternative ones or conspiracy theories from right wing nutjobs. That type of sourcing leads you down the ratf*cker hole.
I’m all for Congressional oversight and stopping waste and fraud. I agree the American taxpayer should not give away our hard earned dollars to just anyone for any stupid thing. Gomer Comer and Gym Jordan have not yet delivered any savings for the American people but their taxpayer paid salaries for comedic value could be considered.
DOGE is merely identifying low hanging fruit. Musk and the DOGE boys are forcing near retirement age civil servants, and disabled government workers who aren’t permitted to work remotely anymore, to retire early. DOGE is paying them to go away, which is a cost. A reduction in force is not a new concept in the HR world.
Further, DOGE is cutting payment for editorial news content subscriptions behind paywalls (Politico, AP, Reuters) – you know, real news outlets providing in depth content. Agency heads have authority to pay for that editorial content. It is easy to stop media content when Trump continues his war on fact-based media outlets who call him out. It’s kind of like putting blinders on a horse – it’s still there, but not seen.

Furthermore, as to crooks in office, I offer convicted felon Donald Trump as Exhibit A. He’s working hard to fill his own wallet, line the purses of his billionaire cronies, and throw red meat to his GOP MAGA dupes. Trump’s besties, Putin and Orban, are the very definition of a kleptocrat. Look up kleptocracy in Wikipedia if you want to know more.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why Trump is rejecting the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977 (FCPA). The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act prohibits people or companies operating in the U.S. from giving money or gifts to foreign officials to win or retain deals in those countries. The law doesn’t require that the bribe is actually paid, but only offered. Corruption and bribery are the Devil’s handmaidens in the business world and arch enemies of democratic governments around the world.

Trump and lots of his business pals are crooks. I think Trump’s pardoned crook Paul Manafort needs to palm money to dirty oligarchs since he is back in business now. We should run down what Paul Manafort and his other dirty trickster former business partner Roger Stone are up to now.
So much grifting and only four years to do it. Co-Presidents Donald Trump and Elon Musk are off to a good start.
UPDATE: Trump is a DOPE. He’s so embarrassing.
WHY OH WHY can he not spell stolen correctly? Maybe he’s dreaming of the yummy German pastry, which is preferable to his usual social media drivel.
From his Truth Social account:
LOOKS LIKE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS HAVE BEEN STOLLEN AT USAID, AND OTHER AGENCIES, MUCH OF IT GOING TO THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA AS A “PAYOFF” FOR CREATING GOOD STORIES ABOUT THE DEMOCRATS. THE LEFT WING “RAG,” KNOWN AS “POLITICO,” SEEMS TO HAVE RECEIVED $8,000,000. Did the New York Times receive money??? Who else did??? THIS COULD BE THE BIGGEST SCANDAL OF THEM ALL, PERHAPS THE BIGGEST IN HISTORY! THE DEMOCRATS CAN’T HIDE FROM THIS ONE. TOO BIG, TOO DIRTY!

That’s an interesting hyperlink title.
Please provide sourcing for all of that DOGE info, Tim. It’s clear you are cutting and pasting from somewhere. I’m glad to see you are researching it all for us.
Let us know if these were bipartisan appropriations that were unlawfully spent by the respective agencies. I’m sure you would agree that all unlawful spending should be curtailed.
Defense spending should prove interesting, right? I’m sure Mike Turner would want to know what DOGE finds out. Some of his biggest campaign donors are million-billionaires and defense contractors.
I see your sourcing as contained in the hyperlinks: Elon Musk via X.
https://x.com/i/grok?text=
I was hoping for some better sourcing of your facts, Tim, but I guess all you have is Musk and the DOGE boys trying to justify their existence. Congressional oversight and citizens can read GAO/CBO reports just as well as Elon.
It’s the job of Congressional Oversight to get a handle on this. Make sure you let all of these people know (including busted down in rank Mike Turner) to do their job in rooting out any excessive spending they find.
https://oversight.house.gov/subcommittee/full-committee/
Speaking of Oversight members, I see Trump handmaiden GA Rep Marjorie Green introduced House Resolutions 24 and 25 on January 9, 2025 to expunge Donald Trump’s Presidential impeachments on December 18, 2019 and January 13, 2021. The United States Constitution lacks any provision for expunging impeachments.
Trying to expunge Trump’s failings will not remove it from the historical record, no matter how hard his sycophants try. He cannot change his stripes. President Donald Trump will remain the twice impeached convicted felon he is now and evermore.
Karen you’re losing your mind double up on your meds. Take care. Those facts were from government organizations underneath the Biden administration so there’s that. Fraud they reported. Lmao ! Smiling my ass off ! Trump is exposing the Deep State that has Stolen so much from the American people ! !
It’s too bad Tim can’t hold his own and defend his own statements without resorting to name calling and personal insults. Let’s agree to disagree since this discussion appears pointless.
Could it be that I have misjudged Tim and Trump 2.0? Perhaps a check from the US government will show up in all of our mailboxes as refunds for the DOGE savings. Fingers crossed!
…I’m with Melissa on this. Due to Elon Musk and DOGE, countless people over the age over 120 are not getting their Social Security benefits. A clear cut example of age discrimination…
I don’t know, Old Bandito. You can joke about the 120 year old pensioner, but it appears Gram & Gramps are screwed – and probably veterans, too. Poor people, disabled, and kids already know Trump 2.0 wants them out in the cold.
It looks like Tim Hart is all wet in the DOGE facts department. Elon is spoon feeding the DOGE swill right onto the doge.gov website. My hyperlink interpretation was correct after all. Grok is still full of it – fake news and election disinformation.
https://www.wired.com/story/doge-website-is-just-one-big-x-ad/
The DOGE pups on the porch are ignorant of legacy software running some of these government systems (COBOL). Cutting waste and fraud doesn’t mean ripping out veins and arteries by gutting the body politic for improved fiscal health. I hope everyone has some savings set aside to live on as we await a judicial tourniquet to stem the financial bloodletting headed our way.
