There are groups everywhere, of every political persuasion telling their people to vote no on issue 1 in Ohio on August 8th. This is an illegal (the State Legislatures wrote that law after last years stupid expensive August primary) election that’s being pushed through by the Republican super majority in Ohio that knows no limits to their absolute power.

Remember, Ohioan’s passed a constitutional amendment to end gerrymandering not that long ago- and these crooks and liars refuse to comply.

The issue on the ballot, and it’s the ONLY thing on the ballot in almost all places, is to make it even more difficult almost impossible for citizens to amend the Ohio Constitution. Yet, the clowns in office can throw an amendment on the ballot without having to get any signatures.

So that’s what they did. While they lie about why they are in a rush to do this in August- the real reason is they don’t want women to have the right to choose if they should carry a fetus or even a zygote to term. Remember the 10 year old rape victim who had to go to Indiana? Yeah, they are that insane.

A whole bunch of Ohioan’s signed petitions to put the Reproductive rights amendment on the ballot in November. If Issue 1 were to pass (it won’t) it would now take 60% of voters to pass an amendment. The current standard is 50% +1.

That’s all you really need to know. But, what do you have to do RIGHT NOW? You need to check to see if your voter registration is up to date and matches your photo ID. To do this- go to https://voterlookup.ohiosos.gov/voterlookup.aspx

Normally, I tell people to wait to vote till election day to vote, because you never know what might come out at the last minute about a candidate. This is not an election you need to do that. So either go to your Board of Elections and vote early or request an absentee ballot and vote early.

And then, do your part to make sure every friend you know, does the same thing.

Now, let’s just think what our next amendment should be? How about when the members of the state legislature put an constitutional amendment on the ballot and it loses by over 60%, they should be immediately removed from office. If their legislation is at an unnecessary special election and it fails by 65%, they should have to repay the voters for all costs pertaining to their initiative (personally), and lastly, if it fails by 70% they should be put in prison, for 10 years each.

Wishful thinking.

Just remember, the formula for funding schools in Ohio was found to be unconstitutional back in 1999 and these republican idiots have ignored it ever since.
And, in May of 2018, Ohio voters approved a constitutional amendment to change the way congressional districts are drawn in the state- that has still not been followed. That amendment btw- passed by 74.85%

At some point, politicians have to be held accountable for their actions, especially when they refuse to abide by the laws on the books.

That’s really what this Issue 1 is about- will the people set the laws, or with the lying, thieving, corrupt elected criminals who have rigged Ohio’s voting districts to cause this mess in the first place.
