If you’re paying attention, I’ve switched themes on the site. The old one was no longer supported and was causing issues with the PDF embedder, especially on mobile.
Because there are multiple browsers, platforms devices, this is sort of a test post to ask you all to let me know if things are working on your end. Please leave comments if something isn’t working and let me know what device and browser you are using- ie. android and chrome, or iOS and Firefox or Windows and Edge. Thank you.
In the last week, I’ve had 4 credible tips on corruption in Dayton. I’m still trying to run down some other old stories that I’ve been working on. There is also my continuing fight with the Department of Justice over their inappropriate use of the GloMar exception in my Freedom of Information Act requests about players in the “Culture of Corruption” investigation.
All that, and my best friend, my dog George, is in his waning days. You might remember George from this video:
George is 12.5, and both my other dogs lived to be 17. I’ve tried to tell him, he has another 5 years, but I don’t think he believes me. Tomorrow, I’m going to look into some holistic treatments and see what options we have.
In the meantime, here’s a few quick hitter questions for you to contemplate.
Mike Foley has a hearing tomorrow, on a “Franks Motion” – claiming that the search warrants issued in his case were invalid. It’s all been sealed up so far, so what’s actually going to be discussed in open court may not be much.
In more Mike Foley news, he’s hired outgoing County Commissioner Debbie Lieberman to work as the Director of Community Development at the Employment Opportunity Center at Westown which he’s funding. Foley may be the only public official that’s hired as many members of the opposing party as his own into patronage jobs. His first was John McManus, who then switched parties. Then there’s Steve Harsman and Cathie Merkle.
And, I just saw that the Dayton City Commission just decided to steal $5.8M from the poor taxpayers of Dayton to donate to the “OnMain” project which belongs to Premier Health and the University of Dayton- neither pay property taxes. Maybe if the Demolition Democrats on the commission would spend money on keeping the pools and rec centers open- kids wouldn’t be fighting in the libraries? Just maybe?
And lastly, the City just installed 2 Blink EV charging stations at the Lohrey Center, but didn’t send a memo out to their employees about how these work. The employees parked in the charging spots.

All worked fine. IOS
Worked on my Android. Foley should be in jail.
No comment on the County suing the City? Guess that is a hard one for you to pick a side. LOL!
Format worked well on iOS
Also – very sorry to hear about George & sending well wishes your way
If they weren’t fighting in the libraries they’d be fighting in your rec centers.
All good on my iPhone
All good on Chrome on my Android and Chrome on my Win-10 machine.
Truly sorry to hear about George. I haven’t met him, but I’m sure he’s a great companion and as awesome as your other dogs that I have met have been. IIRC, the first one I met was 30+ years ago and was named Cato. One of your redeeming qualities is your love of animals, particularly dogs. Quite frankly, I’d rather hang with my dog than hang with most people I know.
I will miss George.
Works good on my iPhone and laptop
