Fingers crossed for the development of a double-decker Kroger’s on the same spot.

But then again, the same old Kroger is still better than what most of the world will ever dream of having.

Jeff

I dont have any voice in this and to be honest I dont really give a fig as to what happens in Dayton anymore. But one last shot:

The clue train has left the station hours ago for y’all if South Parkers think that drugstore across the street from the Ecki Builing is an urban design sucess.

Mike

Jeff-

You can criticize the Walgreens if you want but that is hardly the worst building on the corner.

Can something that can be done with “The Ecki Building”? Currently it is an eyesore to this neighborhood. The corner is better with two Ws. Between the Ecki and the house behind it that has all sorts of junk attached to its outside that corner is the pure definition of property that needs a clean-up.

You can call the Walgreens design a failure but it is one of the few new commercial buildings in the area for the last 5 yrs and brings something nice within walking distance. The drug store design you complain about did more to clean up the area than putting boards over the windows of the Ecki Building.

Mike

Updates from DDN:
City approved plans to buy the Ecki building and a total of 6 properties on this corner.
