Spin doctors out of control

I got this in my e-mail today, and thought I’d share. No, I didn’t write it.

I’m a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight…..

OK, much clearer now.

Reminds me of how GWB got a free pass on Vietnam, while Kerry, who actually went- was some sort of traitor according to the “general electorate.”

People are getting upset because the real Obama is becoming more clear? Writing mindless emails because they think they’re clever. Who has said Palin’s a maverick because of what she named her kids? Why is her husband’s DUI being brought up so much while we’re brushing aside Obama’s past drug use?

On the same note:
Why can Barack go back on many, many promises and be championed for his wisdom and introspective thinking. Newest example–Questioning McCain’s patriotism after announcing in one of his “major speeches” that he never would. See link:

Stick to the issues……. your quote, David, but once again you bring up BS points.

If Obama loses, which is doubtful, it would be bc they have taken their eye off the ball. Stick with issues. McCain can do whatever he wants to but Obama should keep his eye on the ball. Patience is a virtue.

Besides, he was just a community leader like you David. And according to a lot of people who contribute here, he has put a lot of DEEP THOUGHT in becoming the Next President. What a waste of time. Can we get a third, legit candidate. We have Inexperienced Minority Community Leader vs Old Patriot Maverick. Let me snort a line so I can get excited.

We need someone who will allow use to have all of our freedoms, freedom to bear arms, freedom to choice, freedom from BS taxes, freedom from big government, freedom from everything. I don’t need them, they need me. They need all of us. We should just say the hell with them and fend for ourselves. That is what we do best anyway.

What we’re witnessing is McCain lie, yes lie repeatedly about Obama and if the public rewards it, well we are in trouble really . See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IH0xzsogzAk

McCain, rather “lose his integrity than lose an election”.

JimDandy

And Obama’s ads? Attacking McCain because the injuries he suffered in Vietnam present him from regularly using a keyboard. Attacking McCain’s patriotism after saying he wouldn’t? Barack is doing anything possible to win this election. Attacking SARAH PALIN. That’s right. Attacking the Vice Presidential candidate. Apparently, he can’t quite compare himself to someone of McCain’s standing.

Plus, Obama’s new slogan–Change We Need. Does he think he’s doing us a favor? That he is what we’ve been waiting for? Can someone be that conceited? It’s ok to be a little arrogant; candidates need to be. But to actually suggest that he’s the answer to all our prayers, to all our troubles, to all our struggles? An ineffective state legislator from Illinois? Come on.

Nothing Obama has campaigned on comes close to McCain’s sleaziest campaign in modern history.

Obama directed the “lipstick on a pig” Palin…lie;

Obama teaching sex ed to Kindergardners…lie;

Palin consistently opposing “bridge to nowhere…lie;

Palin in Iraq….lie;

Obama responsible for high gas prices…lie;

And on and on.

Find me the equivalent falsehoods of Obama’s side. The only way McCain wins is if he slimes Obama with lies and half-truths and the campaign is more about Britney Spears and Paris Hilton than the economy, Iraq, and the absolute disaster of the last 8 years.

Obama: Says he’ll take public finance. Lie.
Obama: 57 States? That’s a lie.
Obama: Opposes Bush Tax cuts. (Luckily) A lie.
Obama: Claims McCain doesn’t support loan guarantees to auto industry. That’s a lie.
Obama: Claims McCain is responsible for job losses in Wilmington. Really misleading, but pretty much a lie.
Obama: McCain voted to cut education funding. A lie.
Obama: Claims he barely knows terrorist William Ayers. That’s a lie.

List goes on and on. Both sides lie. It’s nothing new. Obama’s campaign is just as wicked, just as horrible as McCain’s. But, Obama now has to direct all his attention to hitting out at McCain. People have wised up. They know his change is crap. The only change is that he’ll be a half-black democratic president instead of white.

John Ise

Your list barely bolsters the argumant that Obama lied about anything.

“Obama: Says he’ll take public finance. Lie.”: Not really. He’s said he would and then opted out. At worst a flip flop but exactly how is thousands of small donors is morally supior to having the public finance McCain’s dishonest attack ads?

“Obama: 57 States? That’s a lie.” What?

“Obama: Opposes Bush Tax cuts. (Luckily) A lie.” He does oppose them unlike McCain who opposed and voted against them before now supporting them.”

“Obama: Claims McCain doesn’t support loan guarantees to auto industry. That’s a lie.” Not a lie. McCain has (correctly in my POV) consistently opposed this.

“Obama: Claims McCain is responsible for job losses in Wilmington. Really misleading, but pretty much a lie.” Maybe not McCain, but certainly Bush-omics that McCain would be an extension of is in part responsible.

“Obama: McCain voted to cut education funding. A lie.” Maybe. I don’t know when and in what context Obama claimed this, if he in fact did.

“Obama: Claims he barely knows terrorist William Ayers. That’s a lie.” Okay. Big deal.

David–Did I ever vouch for GWB? Did I ever vouch for the GOP as a whole? I don’t think so. Stick to the issues I discuss. If you want to try to win an argument by bringing up stuff I didn’t even talk about, so be it. It doesn’t work with me.

John Ise

The “McCain can’t use a keyboard because of his POW injuries” line is something I suspect is akin to the right wing creation of “Al Gore created the internet” smokescreen. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzi9cXgmhyc and he freely admits he’s computer illiterate (noting wrong with that, really). But now is the storyline changing? Is it true? Joe Biden use to say Rudy Gulliani was little more than “noun, verb, 9-11”. Are we at “noun, verb, POW”?

Gene

the “57 states” thing is not a lie – It just makes Obama sound like an idiot.

Most of the comparisons are with Palin – THE VP NOMINEE, NOT THE PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE.

The Big O has lost sight of what is important, his support is crumbling like burning towers, his base is as solid as the levees in NO. If he loses it is bc his support is more into Hollywood than DC.

Hello enlightened gang. If you have the time and inclination this link is one of the best discussions about American evolution I have ever read. It is weird how a site about oil can bring some of the most gifted thinkers. Just lurking is an honor. Enjoy!

Governing is about legislative language, plain and simple. That’s why there are so many lawyers in D.C.

I still haven’t heard anything in this campaign about legislative language, and if you’ve ever been involved in politics, whether in a governmental position, or in a union position, etc…you know that it’s ALL about legislative language, its nuances, its vagueness, or lack thereof.

This whole election is only validating the stupidity of Americans as a whole, once again.

J.R. Locke

If you haven’t figured it out yet

Conservative = Good American
Liberal = Bad American

It is pretty simple to see that Democrats are not patriotic and the Republicans are. I don’t understand what all this fuss is about. Since I began listening to talk radio all those big talking heads told me that liberals are bad Americans, we would be better without them.

Remember America is God’s greatest country in the world even with these American hating liberals. Although most great nations and empires find their fate because of internal strife Republicans know that vilifying liberals and wedging America into weakness is for a greater cause….Jesus anyone?

John Ise

Jesus was a community organizer.

Pontius Pilot was a Governor.

Drexel Dave

If Jesus came back again, this time to America, he would be killed again.

Bush would be giggling as he denied the last stay of execution.

J.R. Locke

John Ise I love it! I think I may paint that slogan on my car tonight!

Watch Andrew Sullivan have a meltdown (but in the most right of way) about the Palin nightmare at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTXUmDz8hao&eurl=http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/
Scroll to the 5:30 mark and see why Palin disqualifies John McCain from the race for presidency.
