Pancake Breakfast this Sunday, Mar 3rd 2013

I learned this from Gary Leitzell. Open your home, serve pancakes, raise money.
However, I make way better pancakes than Gary. It’s one of my semi-secret skills- buttermilk pancakes from scratch- the secret is sifting the cake flour twice and not beating the batter too much.

This Sunday:

Pancake Breakfast

Congrats on getting required signatures to get on the ballot again. i must say though that unless you return the money to the city that you pilfered in your Ninja Boy episode you will not be getting votes. Perhaps it was a good advertising tactic but as a tax payer you owe me a few free pancakes. The fact that you also oppose tax abatements is fiscal suicide. This armpit of a city needs every possible tool in the box to attract business, not gimmicks.

Ralph

David, you created that situation with the city not Mike Turner.  Perhaps, Turner and company were guilty of over reacting. I’ve no doubt you had to spend money to defend yourself and, of course, they always get a big take of the settlement.  This still was on the tax payers dime and you can not deny (as an ad man) that you did it to get attention.
Dayton continues to languish while many of our suburban communities thrive and grow due to abundant land to develop and tax incentives.  They simply “get it.” Dayton has sites that have been cleared for development and even developed (Tech Town that sits empty).  I would rather the city offer tax incetives than to fail miserably acting as developer.  Dayton needs leaders who “get it.”  On this particular issue and the former I must object, however, I do support many of your objectives.  Politics as usual here is a disaster.

I heard that your mayor is going to sell marzipan toy soldiers of his own creation. Included in each box of figurines (all in simulated panic and flight) is a packet of Bromoseltzer. I might attend Mr. Esrati’s pancake panhandle, albein in disguise. Bon apetit!
