This is Dayton City Commissioner Nan Whaley’s pre-election campaign finance report. She has almost $29K on hand

Barrington, RI? Albuquerque, NM? Mooresville, IN? WTF? At least half of her contributions are NOT local. I would guess about 20 percent are from out of the state. This must LITERALLY be the “friends” of Nan Whaley. Also, why doesn’t the form designate exactly how much money each person contributed?

I see several names of Dems that worked on the Kerry campaign in Greene County with her husband in 2004. Friends & Family, obviously. It also appears that she is working the 20-30 yr old voters. It would be nice to see actual dollar amounts & not a shock to see contributions to other campaigns …yet why to the church? All together these documents don’t seem very detailed as compared to looking at online records with the SOS with state level campaigns

Whaley’s biggest contributor (by FAR) is Kit Cooper of Westerville, OH who has personally contributed $5,500 to her campaign coffers. He seems to be associated with “Construction and Demolition Association” of Ohio– a fan of Whaley’s landbanking project, perhaps. A pipefitter’s union in Westerville has also contributed two grand. In a roster of donations $25 to $100, these anomalies REALLY stand out.
