Montgomery County Democratic Party still up to old tricks

The petitions for the Dayton City Commission races aren’t due till March 6th. Doesn’t seem to matter to the Montgomery County Democratic Party which endorsed incumbents Rhine McLin for Mayor and Commissioners Joey Williams and Nan Whaley from the Central Committee floor back in their December meeting.

Of course, you find no record of this- or any useful information on their lame website: www.montgomerydems.net [1]

No matter that the party may not all agree on the positions these elected officials have taken, no matter who else may run, no debate or even discussion and no notice in the meeting notice of an agenda item- it’s said and done.

It is sad that the Democratic party is the least democratic organization that I’ve ever been involved with.

It’s a good thing that in 2010 there will have to be an election for precinct chairs- and we have time to organize for change.

David, it’s Time for a Change at the Montgomery County Democratic Party. I’m right along with you on this!!

John Ise

Were you both denied even a screening or interview by the Central Cmt.? If so, that doesn’t sound very democratic (big D or little d) at all.

A few years back when I was trying to get information on Barbara Temple who ran for city of Dayton mayor. I just wanted information and they said, “We’ll were endorsing Mclin. Prior Obama winning against Hillary, they could’ve give me any information on him either. I never got a phone call or an email back from them. I joined Obama’s website which most did and went to the source rather than foolin around with those people. I think they need some new, young blood. Their website is outdated. Maybe you should run independent or undeclared. There is enough closedmindedness in the republican party, we need to be more progressive!

With the demise of the Republican party in Montgomery County it will be very difficult to remove the entrenched powers on Wilkinson Street. The “elected officials” who call all the shots know they need not worry about any grass roots efforts. It is systemic of the leadership that has brought us the economic demise of the City of Dayton and Montgomery County. Sorry I am so negative but unless David gets a massive ground swell he is fighting an uphill battle. Somebody prove me wrong.
