Montgomery County created a Sports Competition Task Force

Sports tourism on deck for Montgomery County:

A much shorter link to the resolution

The County Commission passed resolution 07-1311, establishing a Youth and Amateur Sports Competition Task Force, chaired by Tony Lupia, who is a local sports tournament director. The goal is a 20% increase in youth sports business/tournaments by 2010.

Too bad the DDN and the Dayton City Commission seem oblivious to these efforts.

A step in the right direction – where does this fit in with the bigger plans?

And the DDN and commission don’t acknowledge these type of things unless they come up with the idea in the first place.

Jeff

I am starting to think we need to encourage the county commission more. They seem to be taking a bigger picture look at things.

Does anyone have the mailing address for the Commissioners? I would like to write them (yes I know they have email addys, but I think a signed letter might still have more oomph)
