If you didn’t catch Dennis Kucinich’s speech last night- you should take 5 minutes to watch it.
He may not have Obama’s oration skills- but he nails what the last 8 years of GWB have done to our country.
And for those of you who are complaining that we never have good candidates- how many times have we ignored this one? He’s not tall enough? Not good looking enough? He sure sounds like he got it right last night with his “Wake up America” speech (and I’m sure he never heard Earl Pitts, Americun on WLW).
When he was the “boy mayor” of Cleveland, big money tried to embarrass him every step of the way. They fought him when they wanted to privatize the public utility (that’s right, Cleveland owned it’s own electric company- and made its own electricity for the streetlights). He’s been right on the war from the start.
The reality is, we need to wake up to what the system has become- a twisted beauty contest of “who doesn’t offend us”, instead of who will defend us. Us little people have been getting killed by this political machine- and it’s our own fault for listening to a system so corrupted with money that if the lobbyists stopped talking our “leaders” wouldn’t know what to talk about, how to vote, or what they are supposed to do.

Notice the crowd. They weren’t just getting fired up by a rant from a mad reactionary. Some of them looked absolutely beatific. That’s the look of people who hear a great truth being spoken after waiting so long for someone to have the stones to say it.
Kucinich stood up last night and said, “Forget about being politically correct, I’m going to speak my mind and say what needs to be said,”
We sure as hell aren’t going to get that from our nominee. Obama inspires people and he has some passion, but he plays it safe. He’s too careful not to offend. He’ll never go for the jugular.
Kucinich, with his 35 articles of impeachment, is the just about the only one in DC doing his job. And Nancy Pelosi should lose hers.

Well, seeing as Kucinich is labeled as one of the “Ten Worst Big-City Leaders from 1820-1993” and guided the city of Cleveland into default, I think we can all pray that he’s merely speaking at the convention and not about to serve as our President. It looks like to be a Democrat, you have to stink in public office, and you have to be able to speak well.

Yes, I would say they’d elect him to the house. Some districts are notoriously Democrat or Republican, and it would take a big scandal to get the incumbent out of office. I would say that’s the case for Kucinich. People look at the D and vote that way. Enough years probably passed for people to elect him. Seeing as how he’s been wasting taxpayer money with his impeachment at bush crusade, I would say he isn’t a good statesman. But, don’t ask me. I’m not from his district.

Good, standard issue argument. Though, of course, it took the approval of Congress to launch the war. (But they were lied to, blah blah blah) At least the “insane R’s” had the dignity to try to take the impeachment as far as possible. (And, of course, Slick Willie also committed perjury, but lest we forget, his constant attacks of Obama during the primaries pretty much took away any dignity Bill had). The Democrats in power refuse to actually carry this impeachment out, probably because it might cut into their vacation time. Hey, there’s a reason we this congress has some of the lowest approval ratings and is one of the most ineffective in history.

I recall Kucinch from way back, in the 1970s, as one of the “faces” of Ohio back then (the other was Martin Mull and his Mary Hartman/Fernwood 2 Night shows), and the big Youngstown shutdowns.
Tom Synder had K on TV, on his late night show. Thats where I saw him first. I appreciated his populism. Though he is too hot for TV/media, he is probably a good street-level campaigner, and he actually came out of a now-forgotten white urban ethnic/populist tendancy of the very late 1960s & early 70s.
I liked his history, his populism, and his social-democratic POV. So I supported him in 2004. I knew he wouldn’t win, but I wanted to see him get his ideas out there a bit. Besides, he was someone I could vote “for”.
He was adopted as a candidate of the peace movement and an element of the new age movement, and was sort of spun that way by the media, a latter-day Jerry Brown. But I saw him more as an economic leftist, pro-union, coming from more of an ethnic, blue collar place, politically speaking, then from somewhere new-agey.

Sorry, it’s not common knowledge. How much you wanna’ bet that if we went out on the street and asked, how many people would be able to name who Kucinich even is, let alone a quotation from an obscure political book?
And just because it’s in a book means nothing as far as truth.

Kucinich is simply the best.
George W. Bush’s sentence-by-sentence speaking skills are deteriorating. Apparently, this may be due to a mental illness called “presenile dementia.” Bush may or may not be secretly still drinking heavily. Bush suffers from narcissism and megalomania. Moreover, Bush has been arrested three times. Bush was arrested for disorderly conduct. Bush was arrested for stealing. Bush was also arrested for a serious crime—driving under the influence of alcohol. There are reasons to believe that Bush suffers from a learning disability. Bush’s learning disability would explain a lot of things. All in all, Bush is a severely mentally ill individual. Bush is not fit to be the president of the United States.
