Board of Elections fires temp worker

Montgomery County Board of Elections temporary part-time worker Robin Dodge (R) was fired yesterday for marking on an absentee ballot application that was being processed.

She had worked as a poll worker previously and was hired by Deputy Director Betty Smith.

As is policy at the Montgomery County Board of Elections, a Democrat was present while the application was being opened.

It will be up to the Montgomery County Prosecutor to decide if criminal charges are warranted.

The deadline for applying for absentee ballots is fast approaching with the election in 6 days.

Considering former BOE workers have been actively engaged in releasing other allegations of improprieties, maybe the prosecutor should be doing a thorough investigation and background checks on all current employees?

Bone to Pick

This one was Kay Wick’s hand picked political hack, can’t say republicians don’t cheat too! More of the same at the political cesspool.

Eric Worthen

They will fire a worker for one mishandled ballot yet when 600 end up buried they give the director and deputy director obscene salaries and bonuses.  Pathetic.

CEW Former BOE Employee

Sadly that is not the first time stuff like that has happened there.  The policies they have for marking absentee and provisional ballots are not standardized and they make it up as they go.  I talked with one of the guys who did the last mailing that went out and gave him details about how the staff illegally marks ballots.  This thing is going to go nuclear if the board members don’t put a lid on this thing soon!  Does Danny S. really have recordings of Betty Smith?  WOW!

Current Employee

The whole Absentee Department is a joke. The Supervisor has a drinking/drug problem and is high most of the time while she’s there. Comes back from lunch smelling like alcohol. Has only a handfull  of sick hours left on the books. She should have hundreds of hours but calls in sick every other week. Sick from drinking and hungover. When they open the secrecy envolopes the employees look at the name on the envolepe and then look how they voted. There goes your secret ballot, don’t vote absentee if you want to keep your vote private.

Director Hairsman is directly in charge of the absentee department.  It is no surprise that he has an employee with a criminal background in charge.  Hairsman is a theif (voting machines) and has a family member that is a felon.

Hmmmm.....

Hey Worthen, you allowed back in the county building these days or are you still banned?
