We raised over $500 for Daybreak. Ticket 551435 was drawn for the huge Obama poster. If you don’t show up, Zak Gillman of Patterson Park has the alternate ticket.

I think what bothers me more than losing, was that 22,839 people didn’t bother to vote at all. Congratulations to Charles Sanders for such a strong showing.

We’ll find out if Jane Mitakides can win in November.

The people in OH-40 missed out on a great candidate in Vic Harris.

Sorry. But 8,000+ is a good thing and everything you do here is a good thing for Dayton. Best of luck in the future Mr. Esrati and I am sorry I didn’t do more to put you on the ballot in the fall. Cheers from the ice kingdom of Auglaize County.

David – you have nothing to be ashamed of and EVERYTHING to be proud of. According to the DDN, you garnered 10k+ votes in OH-3 which was approximately 12% of the total. That’s not unimpressive at all.

And you blazed a lot of new ground in this campaign. You proved the power of the internet and Web2.0. You showed that a congressional campaign can be run on a shoestring budget and a health dose of creativeness (and isn’t creativeness what we’re all about here in the “Midwest”?;)) and you went up against the Golieth’s of the screening committees and the DDN editorial board. Through it all you held your head high and kept busting through all of the walls that were put up in front of you. Like I told you last night, I consider my contributions “money well spent” although I knew that you were “un-buyable”!

An indirect benefit of all of your recent efforts is that you managed to uncover a lot of crap relating to MT and all of the “insider trading” that goes on in this city. You scooped the DDN on 2 occasions – beating them to exposing the stories by a couple of days in both cases. That goes a long way in showing that you have the ability to see the big picture and a knack for connecting the dots. Pretty impressive stuff there as well.

So, even though you did win THIS TIME, you still made a difference. Looking forward to watching the next two years!

What Juan said. I’d look at the past couple of months as merely a warm up. Now you’ve got to start getting out to this far-off burgs in the hinterland where MT gets his unquestioning support, and start throwing that classic Esrati in their face.

These little small town rags will eat it up, and you’ll be much further on your way to being regionally recognized.

Name recognition outside of Dayton proper is where you need to shoot for now.

24,330 democrats voting blank in this congressional primary has to be a worry for the primary winner. These “faithful?” democrats are likely still enamored by the incumbent and will need to be reached before November. Bringing these blanks back to the good guys should be a top priority.

Im real sorry that you didnt win Dave. You do a lot of good for Dayton which is more than I can say for most. Being in the marketing field myself, I know that you are a creative individual and have a lot of great ideas. I, too, look forward to Obama in November. I hope these other states that have yet to vote smarten up.

I agree with what’s been said here already. 10,000 votes is very impressive for a relative unknown (and a guy who was “known” for being a loud mouth and trouble maker ;-)). I was proud to vote for you yesterday, and apparently I wasn’t alone. You’re doing good things here. Don’t stop.

I just wanted to say “Thank You” for Tuesday. It was so refreshing to not have to “vote for the lesser of two evils” (like Obama) but to actually for the first time have a candidate who actually deserves my vote. Thank you so much for the opportunity to vote for someone decent, it was wonderful! I really hope I get the opportunity to vote for you again in the future!
