Birdseye view of the proposed downtown Dayton ice arena
How the new Downtown Dayton Ice Arena would fit on Dave Hall Plaza around the Crowne Plaza. Note, besides parking at the Transportation Center Garage at the top of the picture, there is also a garage to the left top across from Price Stores and the new Reibold Building parking garage to the lower right of the picture.

Excellent idea and perfect location. Downtowns in general need to create a synergy and these types of developments help. Downtown Toledo has a larger one that’s due to open in October. Downtown Evansville, Indiana is progressing on getting one there. Cities like Dayton and Akron must forge ahead with venues like this if they are to stay competive with other markets and keep their cores strong and vibrant.
I believe this is a great idea. We need more buildings downtown that draw crowds. Downtown Dayton closes at 5pm and nothing else goes on. Our current Mayor has been doing a great job in trying to bring a since of vibrantcy to the city and she loves the idea.!!!
